My Christmas/ Hanukkah List

Because powerpoints are so last year.

1. A black boyfriend blazer like this one from J-Crew.  It's well made and handsome... plus its long and covers all matters of sin.

2. Apparently I just like whatever this model wears because I also want a tuxedo shirt much like this one also from J.Crew

3. These Tory Burch mocs from bloomies, which just so happen to be on sale!

Should anyone feel so inclined I would like gift cards to either J.Crew or cash.

A Ban Do!

Anyone who knows me knows I love headbands just as much as the next five year-old, which is why I love the brand ban.do. Founded by photographer Jen Gotch and her stylin' partner Jamie in LA, the two bring their irreverent, girlish charm to every design. Here are some looks I love from their line main line ban.do:
no. 57 I love the bright satin aqua headband against this smokey broach and peacock feather.  Seen in the August 09 issue of Lucky! $95

No. 39 This white headband would look great as a wedding headpiece.  I like the forties nod.  Really beautiful! $95

These kind of headbands can be hard to pull off on a day to day basis, but for some reason headbands like these add style, flare and still can be worn frequently.

Ban.do also has a line of more expensive and ornate, couture headbands called ban.do black label, which we can all dream about...  Here are some of my picks:

She's Better Than You I can't decide what I like best, the cocky name or the headband. Truth be told if you could afford the $200 headband you most likely are superior

She Collects Pretty Things: I'm not sure if this is completely wearable, but someone else sure did! This band is sold out, however you can contact the ladies to get one like it

This is just gorgeous... there are no words.  I love camel and green.  She Wears Glass Slippers $250

She Can Afford Anything $250... This headband makes me want red hair

Okay, enough of this bull that we can't afford... now ban.do has a line of more affordable styles under $50 called Heat by ban.do.

h, $50  I love the color combination of this (yay, Gettysburg!) And you also get the volume and style from some of the more pricer pieces

i $50 Never can so no to bow!  Comes in different color combos!

I $45 This is such an elegant evening piece!

Supermodel Gemma Ward Announces Retirement

On November 8th famed model Gemma Ward announced that she was giving up modeling.  Ward, has gone off the radar a little after Heath Ledger, who she was linked romantically with, died and gained a wittle bit of weight.  She's still a babe, despite not being a skeleton, but leave it to the blogging community to go ape shizz about it.  These pictures are from the quasi-male blogger "Bryanboy" who said:

"She's a very beautiful woman and I think she could make a name for herself in the plus-size niche. You know, give Crystal Renn a run for her money. I would love to see curvier girls in fashion and Gemma Ward represents curvy women like no other."

Picture below is from the skinny website...?

I mean, yea she isn't 125 pounds but she is in no way a plus size model.  I'm so sick about guys
commenting on women's weight.  I don't give one shake of a monkey's tail if you are gay and
walk around in pumps calling yourself a lady... you don't have hormones which cause you to eat like you are going to the chair once a month, you don't carry the scars from your emotional eating on your hips and your metabolism doesn't change with a stiff breeze.  Walk it off Gemma, do your thing.

Christian Siriano To Do A Line For Payless

It's BOGO gone wild for this Holiday season with Project Runway winner Christian Siriano's collection for payless. I have to say the collection is more or less "fierce", staying true to the fashion renegade's dramatic aesthetic, featuring zippers, glitter and chains.

I like these gold flats with the zipper front for $29.99 and these black patent and gold heels for $34.99.

Other than that the heels on some of these are a little weird and as much as I like to say bogo, I don't really know if I want a bogo on blisters. What do you think? Love it or leave it? Prices range from $29.99-$49.99.

Vintgage 70's Lilly Pulitzer Men's Blazer on Ebay

Has your man been good this year?  Like reallllyyy good? Like $1300 good?  Probably not, but if on the off chance your chap is, then you might consider this vintage Lily Pulitzer men's jacket on ebay.  Lily is big on the vintage revival for this resort season, going back to their roots, but you must admit... it is far cooler to have the original.   I was a little put off by the "mens stuff" title, because anyone trying to pedal a $1295 jacket should probably refer to a thesaurus before using such plain language when trying to target a gentile crowd, but that's actually what it's called.  Huh.

Above: The Peter Blazer, a modern update on the original.  Below, The Memsey Dress, part of the vintage collection, circa "1959ish"

Below, The Worth Shift, which I actually really like, also from the originals collection.

A cute little romper for baby.

Currently there are no bids and only 6 more days to bid!
