Leighton Meester, I Love You (And So Does Robert Pattinson)

Single is the new black apparently and shiz is getting weird, not just in TV land but real life as well.  Last week it was reported that Leighton Meester and sometimes co-star Sebastian Stan are no more and she has actually rebounded with Robert Pattinson.  I love myself some Leighton; she has great style and I like that she holds her own next to the bodacious Blake Lively.  Also headed to splitsville are Ed Westwick and Jessica Szohr are no more, which pleases me to know end because he is the background of my computer and (since I work from home) my constant co-worker.

It's going to be really awkward when Ed and I meet and fall in love now after this, but I'm sure we'll get over it. {pic}

I look froward everyday to get my email blast from Who What Wear on who they choose to spotlight and today when it was Leighton I was really excited.  Sometimes on Gossip Girl they can dress Blair a little on the dowdy side, which is why I live for her personal style.  With a little flair for the wild side, Meester adds sultry red lips, prints and crazy ass shoes to set her apart from her TV persona.  The only thing I don't love here is the gray granny pants on the right.

The nude glossy lip paired with natural eye-make up and a slight hint of bronzer on her cheeks makes her look fresh-faced and young.  {pic}

 I love the contrast in her makeup in these shots.  Even with a lot of make-up she still doesn't look like a tranny, god love her!

Not only is she an actress (she has a small role in Tina Fey's new movie, Date Night as well) and singer she has also beat out co-star lively for an ad campaign for hair no less.  Leighton and her locks will be the new face of Herbal Essences!  People had long since speculated it would be Blake to get the hair gig, after The New York Times announced her hair as the new "rachel."  Alright, I feel like a lesbian stalker now.  Again.

Bitchin' Beats: M Ward and Zooey Deschanel of She and Him

Last week Zooey Deschanel and M Ward of She and Him came out with their second album (Volume Two) and sweet three pound baby jesus is it good! Deschanel's thick velvet voice paired with quirky lyrics and catchy beats make it the perfect soundtrack for spring in the city.

Deschanel is too cute for words and Ward is too cute for school so I was curious how the two met up. According to Wikipedia, which may or may not be written by crackheads and is the reason I have a college diploma, the two met on the set of The Go-Getter, where the director asked them to sing a duet together for the closing credits. It took a little coaxing from Ward to get the shy deschanel to come out as a singer but finally she sent him three years of her personal demo tapes. It wasn't long after that the two were recording and She and Him was formed. You probably heard some of their songs on the soundtrack of 500 Days of Summer (which was not a romantic comedy).

This leads me to my next point- GOD SHE IS COOL.  She didn't want to go into music because she was wary about becoming a big star or overexposed celebrity, which I mean, right there with you Zooey.  Her dad is a director, her mom was an actress, her sister is the star of Bones and her husband is the lead singer of Death Cab for Cutie.

Man, thats a genetically cursed family.

Well, now that I've announced to everyone I have a big one for Zooey Deschanel ending this is awkward. Ha. Hmm... so? How 'bout them mets?

Get Eleanor Waldorf's Clothing Line on Rarechic

While watching Gossip Girl last night I thought about two things (well three if you count what Ed Westwick looks like naked): all this incestual dating between the cast makes Serena and Dan dating as Step-siblings normal and, does Lorick still make all Eleanor Waldof's clothes? Well, after clicking around I found that Lorick is still responsible for the flirty fun designs and you can get the line exclusively on Rarechic.

In true TV to life form it doesn't look like the entire collection is out yet but click here to view what I could find currently available online.  On the Lorick website (which is out of this world adorably designed) you can view the complete line.  Here are some of my pics:

There really isn't a better line than Lorick (maybe Milly) to be featured as Waldforf's line and it was a truly inspired example of when marketing and product placement actually drives a story (as I hold up a diet coke can, drink, swallow and smile). 

I mean... of course she would be a ten.. WHY WOULD IT BE ANY DIFFERENT?

Designer Abigail Lorick's line has this modern yet Gatsby feel, and why wouldn't it with the world-wind life this young woman has had.  At 18 Florida born Lorick moved to Paris and Milan to model.  While modeling she found herself falling for the design part of fashion and went to study at FIT in New York while interning at T.S. Dixon.  

By 2004 she designed the entire collection, which directly coincides with my obsession with the brand and the stage in my life where I thought bows still went with everything. In 2007, Lorick was born and the rest.. well, I would imagine its only the beginning for this bitch to behold!

 

A Bitch to Behold Ivanka Trump Gets Married

I respect the f out of Ivanka Trump: she is an heiress who could easily be flashing her vajayjay to the paparazzi and putting drugs up her nose, but instead she makes moves working for her dad in a job she had to pay her dues to get and is developing her name into a brand. I mean, yes, she grew up the daughter of one of the wealthiest men in America as her father, but she also had to grow up with the name Ivanka and that sucks. Manolo Blahnik: A Bitch to Behold

His parts may be different but you have to give credit where credit is due. The legendary shoe maker said:

"I hate celebrities. All those pointless girls — I won't name names, but you know who I mean. They are 'famous.' Ridiculous. I like women with style: Actresses like Uma Thurman, icons like Audrey Hepburn. I like women with style to wear my shoes."

Blahnik has been outspoken about other popular culture such as Sex and the City calling it "sick" and not in a sick way, in the cough, cold, vomski kind of way. Although you gotta love him for being blunt and outspoken, I have to admit these "pointless" celebrities and movies like Sex and the City have made him a house hold name. Well, a park avenue house hold name.

Not only does she have the coolest name, the best clothes, the

best role on the best TV show and a hot boyfriend (who she is 

allegedly going to announce an engagement with) but her mom 

was a drug dealer and she was born in jail annnddd now she 

has a song with these casually good looking men? Some girls 

have all the luck I tell ya. I have a serious girl crush.

A Bitch to Behold: Kelly Wearstler

I first became aware of Kelly Wearstler on the Bravo reality show, Top Design and was taken by her daring fashion and down right ridiculous hair styles, but all and all, I liked her.  With her third book HUE due out later this summer, a line for Bergdorf's, Sferra, Lee Jofa annnddddd Schumacher she is proving herself to be a bitch to be reckoned with.  Side note, Wearstler was a playboy centerfold back, which I'm sure all her yuppie friends at her kid's schools love to talk about behind her back.
